Unlike their bamboo counterpart, Rattan is a seasonal plant that only grows at certain times during the year. Rattan used for furniture can be divided into 3 main variations, large-sized poles, small-sized poles, and rattan strands. Compared to its counterpart, bamboo, Rattan is much more flexible and craftable. They can be easily bent to shape and does not look as rigid as bamboo furniture. This Round Rattan Table is woven using all 3 variations. The thick poles are used to make the table frame due to their strength. Other table parts like the surface or finishings are woven by smaller trunks and tied together by Rattan strands.
